Well the big spring sales are behind me and I am busy making new things. I will also be selling work at a beautiful and relatively new salon in Edina called BESPOKE Hair Artisans. Check them out, great stylists and spa treatments in a beautiful environment and free parking to boot! Other than new earrings and working to pay the man (or is that men?) there is gardening to be done and sunshine to be enjoyed! Hope you are doing some enjoying yourselves…
Actually, I am loving this severe heatwave. If I am not in our cool basement or some other air conditioned spot, our neighbor’s pool is the place to be. Other than floating around there I have made a few quick trips to check out the yard, where things are going crazy from all the rain and sun. There is so much blooming and it looks as if we are in store for a great harvest in the next month or so. I did a few of these little flower children today and there were so many great leaves and flowers to choose from. If you think these are cool check out this book by the amazing and prolific Elsa Mora. Stay cool!
Last year around this time we were road tripping our way back from the Florida panhandle. We stopped in some little town and found some great books in a used store and just outside was this amazing tree. I still have no idea what it was, none of the locals we asked knew…which always amazes me. We take so much for granted, and I am certainly guilty. Anyhow, with the threat of spring in the air, knowing full well that it could get worse again before it’s really here to stay (at least up here on the prairie) I am looking for the robin’s and wishing you all a beautiful, flowering, green season and hoping all of us remember to stop and notice the beauty. Happy Spring!
It’s been a couple of busy weeks, lots of projects in progress but not a lot finished. You know how that goes. My friend Andrea is a fabulous photographer among other things and has been taking some MUCH better photo’s of some of the jewelry I will be listing on etsy. Sometimes you really have to go to the trained professionals!
Here is the third drawing from my photo’s taken at the butterfly museum last winter. Next week maybe I’ll do a little coloring for you. It has been raining a fair amount this past week here and we have a very hardy crop of mosquitoes (more commonly known as the MN state bird), perhaps I should be drawing them?
Arrivederci amigos!
Went to visit my girlfriend’s mom up in Chisholm, MN this weekend which is always fun. On Saturday we took a drive out of town and saw fields of lupines! I have never seen them en masse like that outside of west Texas. It was really beautiful, I’ll post more photo’s on flickr and some from our gardens too. Enjoy…
