Since I closed my etsy store some time ago, you can buy pieces directly by sending me an email or commenting on my blog. Just tell me what the caption was or describe to me what you liked and I can give you price and availability. Many have figured this out but for those who have asked there it is.  Art and Commerce are like a horse and carriage?

So a couple years ago I put an end to The Traditional Easter Basket and decided that entry to the family Easter meal (buona Pasqua!) would be a home made Peep’s Diorama.  I had heard someone mention that the Washington Post or someone had done a story on these kookie dioramas, it sounded like fun. I wish I had taken more photos last year but I did snap a few this year.  I think this new tradition has caught on!  The entries were hilarious.  They are truly an insight into the eyes of the makers… Who do you vote for? Please do not penalize contestants for the lack of photography skills on my part.

And yes, I do realize Easter is long gone…I am a little behind and out of sequence.  Perhaps an insight into me.

When the warm weather rolls in, I am thinking, I should say daydreaming about a long walk on a deserted beach…  But not this week.  Hopefully that can become a reality again one of these days.  For now, how  about some beach-y ear rings?

…when she said the older you get the faster time goes!  I am trying to get work photographed and documented before I sell it these days.  So much to learn with my computer and camera!  Anyhow, I made this pair of earrings for my niece from a treasured piece of broken jewelry with the help of my son who is much better than I with a jewelry saw.  I think she will love them.

Hope to update things more often!

We started the New Year off with a bang surrounded by friends, good food and libation and lot’s of laughs.  And at midnight, thanks to a local neighbor association we could see fireworks from our living room window to boot.  During the evening there was some rum fueled conversation about resolutions and such and I committed to do a drawing a day in 2012.  Yes, I had been thinking about it because when I made the attempt 8 years ago I fell a little short.  Wish me more luck this time please! Other promises were made for “a day” feats like: a poem, a blog post, a drink (think alcoholic beverage), and some that will remain open to your imagination.  I am wishing us all well and am putting no pressure on myself as to the quality of the finished product, it’s more to establish better habits as I see it. Below is a photo from friend, neighbor, graphic designer and photographer Andrea of the Lentil soup I made to start the year with good luck. Photos of the daily doodles…soon come.

Lentils for good luck!
