My week in sunny Mexico was productive and energizing to say the least.  I went to a place in Puerto Vallarta (Hacienda Mosaico, check it out, it is BEAUTIFUL! http://www.haciendamosaico.com/ws_10.html ) to take a workshop with the talented and entertaining Michael DeMeng http://www.michaeldemeng.com/.  My goal in going was to learn some new techniques to further the assemblage work I have dabbled with for some years.  I was of course very drawn in when I looked at Michael’s work but in truth, it was reading the supply list for the class that really snared me.  As I told Michael, he had me at apoxie clay.  Aves apoxie clay is really great stuff!  I learned so much, am no longer phobic about acrylic paint, and was drunk with the power of drilling and cutting metal!  I did some good work while there and will post photos of pieces as I finish them.  You can see the first, called Seahorse Radio in my Flickr stream.  Adios amigos
